About Me
An overview of my experience and background in arts marketing.
Having graduated in 2009 with a Theatre & Performances Studies degree from the University of Warwick my passion for the arts took me to a role as Marketing Officer for the Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds in 2010, leaving in 2015 as Head of Department. From 2015 - 2016 I worked for Tara Arts and managed the marketing, sales and branding strategy for the reopening of the new Tara Theatre.
Since November 2016, I have been working as a freelance Arts Marketing consultant and manager on strategy development, production and tour marketing, branding and digital strategy and implementation for producing companies and venues. Currently working as Head of Marketing for the Original Theatre Company and recent roles include Communications Manager for Rifco Theatre Company with in house roles support Watford Palace Theatre and Park Theatre and projects for Trafalgar Theatres, JAS Theatricals, ATG Productions, Little Angel Theatre, The Bush, China Plate, Funnelwick Limb, Watford Palace Theatre, ETT, High Tide, Cahoots Theatre Company, Eastern Angles, The Production Exchange, Park Theatre, Southwark Playhouse The Other Palace, HOME Slough, METTA Theatre and Tall Stories .
Recent consultancy projects include working on Audience Development strategies with The Bush, London and development of Audience Development stratgey for a major application with China Plate.
I also led on the marketing module for the MA in Creative Producing at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts and for Chris Grady’s Creative Producing Diploma for a number of years and have run marketing training sessions for China Plate, Roots, Farnham Maltings, Stage One and Edinburgh Fringe as well as taking part as a Mentor for Arts Marketing Association. In 2022 I travelled to South Korea to be part of the K-Musical Market in Seoul and spoke on Audience Development in the UK theatre to Korean Producers.
Since March 2020 I have worked on a number of online projects including the development of Original Theatre Online (originaltheatreonline.com) who have produced pre-recorded streamings of their stage shows including Murder at Midnight, The Importance of Being Oscar, The Croft, The Habit of Art, A Splinter of Ice, The Hound of the Baskervilles, The End of the Night and made-for-online productions of Birdsong Online, Watching Rosie, Apollo 13: The Dark Side of the Moon, The Haunting of Alice Bowles, Barnes’ People, Being Mr Wickham, A Cold Supper Behind Harrods, Into The Night, The Red, Originals, Stumped which have so far reached over 55,000 households in over 37 countries worldwide. I have also managed the marketing for Soho Poly’s online show DANCE, David Adkin’s online production of Rocky Road, Paper Smoker’s Diary of and Expat (Reloaded), the development of brand and marketing for Funnelwick Limb’s online stories and AR project The Chronicles of Atom and Luna and Panto Online’s online pantomime productions of Jack and the Beanstalk and Cinderella with Peter Duncan.
